Autumn in New York

Back from the Big Apple. My conference went well. Despite rain, stomach flu, and more rain...we had a pretty good time in NYC. Troy and Phin went museum hopping while I worked. I did manage to get out some with them though. They went to The Met, The Natural History Museum, The Guggenheim, and I joined them at The MOMA. Phin is pretty cultured for 14 months old. Saturday was pretty wet, but we went to the East Village had breakfast at Cafe Reggio, walked to Little Italy and had lunch there. Shopped around, and caught the subway back to our hotel. Here are a few pics....

Dancin shoes

This morning, Phin and I went to hear Slaid Cleves sing at Central Market, he likes to dance. Then we met The Williamsons at Green Mesquite for some lunch, then we came home and Phin dragged the old pans around the house. Typical Fall day in Austin!

Projectile Vomit

Today we got our first call from Phin's school...he had puked...A LOT. He seems fine, no fever, and it only happened twice, so maybe it was something he ate? Poor baby!

31 years

Today marks year 31...I bet that makes my parents feel old! I entered my 30's last year without even a blink...I had a 2 month old then, so my mind was otherwise occupied with diapers, nursing, and lack of sleep. This year has flown by, and now I am officially IN my 30's. I can tell this is going to be a busy decade, a child and work can do that to you, and what I have learned is that busy usually means fast... so watch out 40, here I come!!!

Laughing & Playing

Phin was in a great mood tonight, laughing and playing with Daddy. He tried on his new warm hat...for NYC in a couple of weeks, you never know how cold it could get!

A Family Affair

Allergy season is here, and we are all feeling it's wrath...mucous a plenty around here, all three of us. Here are some pics from a couple of weeks ago to tide the Grandmothers over.

I don't have any idea why it is sideways, something with the upload from this mac or the program, I'm not used to it....

Austin City Limits 2007

The heat, sun, sweat, stinky too close for comfort bodies rubbing up against you to get a couple of inches closer to the stage, blistered feet, and did I say heat could not keep us away from ACL this weekend. You would think we would have learned by now...despite the torture, it was fun. Heather and Lawrence joined us for the day where we finished the night with rockin Arcade Fire, who the baked sixteen year old boy next to us emphatically described as "religious and epic..."

i life

Consumed by the all powerful MAC...as in Macintosh for those of you over 35, Macintosh Computer..not the fruit, for those of you of 70. Troy has always used one for work, hell we have an iMac (the bubble base) had it for a long time, but I always seem to fall back on the "trusty" PC...yes I was one of those "PC/MAC" users, a traitor, not loyal to either...yet living with an architect who makes you feel shameful to even utter the words...PC...(Troy is like a walking ad for MAC, I swear they should hire him...and all the architects in his firm for that matter)...you have seen the commercials, PC users are the "afraid of change generation"...and by God, that is not me. So as our new toys came this weekend, I found myself accepting this change within me...I want to be, therefore I will be from now on (except at work..dell=work) a MAC woman. I will live the iLife, so to speak, and from what I can see, it's pretty sweet. Above, "Studious Tara" playing with the "photobooth" on our new MacBook...this could be dangerous! Below, Phin looking oh so cute ready for the TEXAS game...Hook em!

Phin's second day of school

Phin is so tired when he comes home from daycare. He has had an overall good start, they do say he cries sometimes, but it seems like they all do at that age! I know he will ge† used to it even†ually.
